END OF THE ROAD?

Brazilian Fabio Da Silva looks very close to the end of his Manchester United career after his agent admitted that the player was looking at several options from abroad. His contract comes to an end in the next few months and there has been no talk about a new deal. He has rarely featured for the first-team during his time at the club. Fabio was brought to the club along with his brother Rafael Da Silva, who has gone on to become a first team regular. The pair were signed back in 2008. Fabio has made just three appearances this campaign, which demonstrates that he is not in the plans of David Moyes.

A couple of Italian clubs have been linked with a move and his agent has further fuelled rumours by admitting that Fabio could leave the club. It is very likely that Rafael will also follow him out of Old Trafford, as David Moyes looks to mould the team in his image. United are expected to undergo several changes in the summer after a poor spell in the first half. The club are seventh in the table and they face a fight to even finish in the top four. During the regime of Alex Ferguson, they never finished below third in the table.

“I do not know anything about these rumours. I think it is just media speculation. I can say that they will remain in Manchester until the end of the season, but in the summer it very likely that they can go,” said Fabio’s agent. It was only three years ago that he started in the Champions league final against Barcelona. However, the rise of Alexander Buttner coupled with the impressive form of Patrice Evra has limited his opportunities. Rafael has not had similar problems since the retirement of Gary Neville.
