FABIO WILL RETURN

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has once again confirmed that he expects defender Fabio Da Silva to return to the club once his loan spell with QPR comes to an end. There have been rumours that Manchester United will be willing to negotiate a transfer fee with QPR in order to ensure that the defender stays at Loftus Road. Due to the presence of Patrice Evra, Fabio Da Silva has been unable to get regular playing time at Old Trafford. His twin brother Rafael Da Silva, however, has been able to establish himself as a first-team regular at Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he is extremely sure that Fabio Da Silva will return to Old Trafford, but as a much better player due to the regular first-team experience he is expected to get at Loftus Road under the management of the former Manchester United player Mark Hughes. Sir Alex Ferguson has benefited in a significant manner by loaning of players to his former players. Danny Welbeck is a prime example of a player who has benefited significantly from his loan spell at Sunderland last season. At 21 years of age, Ferguson expects Fabio Da Silva to become a much better player in the future.

“Fabio went to QPR, which was so important for the boy because he has enormous ability, but he needs to play. Because Evra, touch wood, is never injured, the opportunities haven’t been there for the boy. He played a few games last season but it’s not enough for a young boy of 21 years. He needed to continue with his progress,” said Sir Alex Ferguson in a recent interview. Manchester United are currently in the pre-season tour of Asia where they will be hoping to gel the number of new signings like Kagawa.
