Queens Park Rangers (QPR) has been defeated by West Bromwich Albion in a Premier League match played at the Hawthorns on Saturday. West Brom won the match by a close margin of 3-2. This was the third victory for West Brom in the ongoing Premier League. With this victory, the West Brom team has moved up to no. 6 in the points table. Steve Clarke’s team has played  7 matches in the tournament so far and out of those 7 matches, the team won 4, lost 1 and the rest two ended in a draw. West Brom currently has 14 points in 7 matches.

On the other hand, this was the fifth defeat for QPR in the ongoing Premier League. Mark Hughes’ team has not been able to register even a single win in the competition so far. Out of the 7 matches that the Rangers have played so far, they lost 5 and the remaining two finished in the form of a draw. The QPR team is currently at no. 20 in the points table with 2 points in 7 matches.

In the post match press conference, Mark Hughes said, “It was another disappointing day for us. The boys played well in the first half, but, in the second half, they were a bit defensive in their approach. They should have attacked a bit more.”

“When you lose too many matches, you tend to lack self belief and you start getting nervous during the vital moments of the game and that’s what happened with the boys today. In the last 10 minutes, we were not up to the mark at all.”

“There are still a lot of matches to be played in the competition. So, there is no reason why we can’t make a comeback.”

QPR will play its next match against Everton on 21st of October at the Loftus Road Stadium.
