RAFAEL HAS THE EXPERIENCE

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that even though most of the players at the club are under the age of 25, he feels that they have a lot of experience with them to guide through the rest of the Premier league season as they have been involved with Manchester United for many seasons now.

Rafael Da Silva is one such example according to Sir Alex Ferguson. The Scot states that the Brazilian has been playing with Manchester United for 2 to 3 seasons as the first choice right back. It has provided him with valuable experience about the Premier league, despite the fact that he is still very young.

Ferguson also said that the quite substantial early form shown by Manchester City has now proven to be irrelevant in the title race, as they have relinquished their lead to Manchester United in recent weeks. United currently lead the Premier league table by three points. Ferguson has said that the early season form of Manchester City, which included a 6-1 drubbing of Manchester United at Old Trafford, is not relevant now because their form has dropped and the league title is decided over a season and not over three months.

“They were playing great football in the first half of the season. We felt the brunt of it when they beat us 6-1. But a season lasts for a bit longer than three months. There are young ones who are not accustomed to it like Danny Welbeck, Ashley Young, David de Gea, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling. Other boys like Fabio da Silva and Rafael da Silva have been here for two or three years, so they’re used to being involved,” Ferguson said ahead of this weekend’s fixtures in the Premier league, in which United will be facing Blackburn Rovers.
