Fabio da Silva misses game against Derby

The Brazilian defender, Fabio da Silva misses out important game against Derby because of a virus. The Brazilian full-back who is only recently backed in the team after an injury missed out the game which his team won 2-1.

In front of a record crowd, the Welsh club managed to hold on to beat Derby and to boost their chance of making it to the play-off along the way.

Bruno Manga opened the scoring for the host with a powerful header in the 37th minute to give Cardiff City a well-deserved lead at halftime. However, Derby County came back stronger after the break and managed to equalize through Martin. The goal in itself was a scrappy one and would not be really pleasing for the Cardiff manager.

After conceding the goal, Cardiff defense became a bit shaky and clearly missed the presence of Fabio da Silva. Fortunately for them, their forward players did not let themselves affected and continued to press for another goal.

In the 68th minute, Stuart O’Keefe managed to score on a corner to give Cardiff back the lead in this crucial clash that will determine their presence in the play-off or not. Cardiff is now 2 points from the 6th place and will be hoping that they could qualify come to the end of the season.

With the spirit and the determination that they have shown, Fabio da Silva’s teammates can undoubtedly make it provided that they improve their impressive display. They were lucky not to concede another goal after the equalizer and against the stronger sides, they could have find themselves training.

The Cardiff manager was keen to acknowledge his side’s strength of character and disciplined and believed that they will need to show this determination again if they want to stand a chance of meeting it into the top six.
