After failing to snatch a top 5 spot, Russell Slade’s future is uncertain

Cardiff City was unable to secure a position in the top 6 spots of the English League Championship and now Russell Slade is being rumored of getting sacked from coaching Cardiff City as fans have voiced their desire to see Craig Bellamy take charge and replace Slade in the managerial position of the club.

The Championship play-offs is out of the reach of Cardiff City and Russell Slade stated that he has done everything in his power to help push the team to the highest possible position in the 2nd tier English League.

“I am an honest person. I can look in the mirror and know I have done my best that might not be good enough for some people.” Cardiff City’s Russell Slade said.

Russell Slade’s contract with Cardiff City expires at the end of the season, more specifically after the final match of the season on May 7 when Cardiff City faces off with Birmingham City.

During the final stages of the English League Championship, Cardiff City consistently dropped points and this has angered and disappointed them at the same time as the club had a genuine chance of sealing a Championship play-off position but after a number of underwhelming results, Cardiff City won’t be able to snatch a top 6 spot and now his managerial position is at risk.

Cardiff City’s first league match of April was against Derby County and they claimed a 2-1 triumph but from there on out, things started to fall apart as Cardiff City lost against Fulham, Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday while drawing with QPR.

During the month of April, Cardiff City played a total of 7 league games and only won 2 of those games which were against Derby County and Bolton Wanderers while the rest of their results were either defeats or draws.

Craig Bellamy is one of the managers that is being viewed to replace Russell Slade if he does get sacked at the end of the season.
