ZAHA WILL TRAVEL

The Manchester United boss, David Moyes, has made it clear that Wilfried Zaha will travel with the team on the pre-season tour of East Asia.

Manchester United had bought Zaha in January this year from Crystal Palace and then, had immediately loaned him back to Selhurst Park. The Ivory Coast winger has returned to United now and Moyes wants to have a good look at him before the start of the season.

Talking to the reporters yesterday, Moyes said, “Wilfried is going on the pre-season tour. He has joined the camp only a couple of days ago, but, I’ve decided to take him on the tour and see how good he is.”

“Manchester United is known for developing young players. I hope Wilfried will be another one of those players.”

Meanwhile, Moyes has again denied any chances of Wayne Rooney’s transfer this summer.

The Scot said, “I have made it clear before as well that we are not going to put Wayne on sale. I have chatted with him several times and I can assure you that he is fully committed to the club.”

“He is going fine in training.  He is getting his body into a very good shape and that’s a real positive. That’s what you want as a manager. You want your players to be completely prepared before the season kicks off.”

United is trying hard to bring Everton’s left-back Leighton Baines and Barcelona’s midfielder Thiago Alcantara at Old Trafford. When asked if any one of those two deals is close to be finalized, the Manchester United boss didn’t give any direct answer. He said, “We are trying our best to make the squad better. We are always interested in quality players.”

The Red Devils will start their Premier League campaign next season against Swansea City on 17th of August.
